A Fraport Brazil received on the last April 20 the formal approval of equipment to landing and takeoff operations, including the Instrument Landing System (ILS) by CINDACTA II (Second Integrated Center for Air Defense and Air Traffic Control).
Now, during the 30 days of official publicity for the new procedural letters for the use of the extended runway issued by the ICA (Instituto Cartográfica da Aeronáutica), Fraport is working on adapting the horizontal and luminous signs of the axis and edge of the runway, for the start of operation of the runway with 3.200 meters on May 19th.
that pilots must have a license to operate the ILS CAT II and aircraft must be equipped.
CAT II operation requires horizontal visibility greater than 300 meters in length and vertical visibility greater than 30,5 meters. If the fog is denser than these conditions the CAT II is not allowed to operate.
