A Mirage F-1B fighter crashed yesterday morning, February 25, at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The fighter belonging to the company Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) had two pilots on board.
“First aid was dispatched to the scene immediately and both pilots were taken to a hospital in Panama City, Florida to assess the injuries sustained during the accident.”, Colonel Gregory Moseley, commander of the 325th Fighter Wing, said in a statement.
The detailed health status of the pilots, as well as the identity of the airmen is unknown.
ATAC is a private company that provides aircraft to be used in training with the USAF, its fighters are the aggressors, i.e. enemies in an aerial exercise.
ATAC's fleet consists of Kfir C1S fighters (also called F-21), L-39 Albatross and more recently the company acquired 63 retired Mirage F-1s from the French Air Force in 2017.
