As one of the most anticipated airports to be privatized, the Santos Dumont airport (SDU) is not expected to be auctioned for now. According to Márcio França, Minister of Ports and Airports “Santos Dumont will not be auctioned at this time, there is no way to do that”.
In addition, also declared that it is looking for solutions to solve the obstacles in the concession of Galeão airport (GIG), and that it is preparing a new study to start the resumption of the terminal, not ruling out a new privatization bid.
“There are other formulas that we are thinking of doing immediately, this weekend I will be with the mayor of Rio and we will talk about the fastest way to have Galeão running at its fullest again”, highlighted Márcio França.
In addition, the minister said that he does not see problems in having the main Brazilian airports under private istration, however, emphasizes the need for agreements with realistic conditions, so that there is compliance.
