On the first day of 2021, Qatar Airways declared that it simultaneously received three Boeing 777F aircraft, directly from the American manufacturer's facilities in Everett.

Boeing also reached the milestone of 200 777F (freighters) delivered, a good number considering that Boeing currently only produces two twin-engine freighters: The 767F and the 777F.

With the arrival of the trio of 777 freighters, Qatar Airways Cargo now operates 24 aircraft of this model along with two 747-8 freighters.

The company's reinforced fleet will help a lot at this time of high demand, due to the need for rapid transport of the vaccine against Covid-19 between several countries.

In all, Qatar Cargo regularly serves more than 60 destinations around the world from its hub in Doha.

“With the arrival of these new freighters, we are injecting more capacity into the market, which is much needed during the pandemic. The added capacity will also allow us to the logistics around the COVID-19 vaccination, which is projected to be one of the biggest logistical challenges for the industry.”, said Qatar Airways Group CEO Akbar Al Baker.

The 777 Freighter can fly 4.970 nautical miles (9.200 km) and carry a payload of 224.900 pounds (102.010 kg). The plane's long range translates into significant savings for operators such as Qatar Airways Cargo, as fewer stops reduce landing fees, congestion, cargo handling costs and delivery times.
