The RAAF's F/A-18 Super Hornet fighters will complete 10 years of service to Australia tomorrow.
The Super Hornet arrived in Australia in 2010. The 24 units of the fighter took the RAAF to another level, with greater versatility and modernity.
"Over the past decade, Boeing has partnered with the RAAF to help develop Australia's Super Hornet fleet into one of the most advanced and formidable multi-role fighters in the world today", says Boeing.

Australia's Super Hornets are so far the only ones that are used in a function other than on aircraft carriers, as is the case in the US. In addition to the regular Super Hornets, the RAAF also operates 11 EA-18G fighters, which are geared towards electronic combat.
In addition to the Super Hornets, the RAAF also operates the Lockheed Martin F-35A stealth fighter, thus increasing the country's firepower and war strategy.
There is still a question of upgrading the F=18 Super Hornet to the Block III version, which is being adopted by the US Navy. Block III upgrades would include conforming fuel tanks, a faster mission computer, and a more robust communications system.
