RAF signs maintenance contract for its C-17A Globemaster IIIs

Defence Equipment & has signed a £2m maintenance contract for the Royal Air Force’s fleet of C-6A Globemaster aircraft, which will create 17 industrial jobs at RAF Brize Norton.</p> Delivered three months early, the contract to increase maintenance will help improve the overall availability of the RAF’s fleet of eight Globemasters . These long-range, heavy-lift strategic airlifters can operate close to potential areas of operation for combat, peacekeeping and humanitarian missions around the world. Boeing already provides in-country for the RAF’s Globemaster aircraft, including for 25 Squadron , preventative maintenance and periodic maintenance in-country in the UK. This is in addition to the more extensive maintenance that is performed every five years at Boeing in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
