Recife Aeronautics Museum reopens for visitation at new address

The Recife Aeronautics Museum reopened its doors for visitation at a new address: in the building of the former Aeronautical Material Park (PAMA-RF). The new facilities, inaugurated on Tuesday (18/04), occupy an area of ​​222 square meters, with 10 rooms spread over three floors and private parking for 180 cars.

The only cultural space of the Brazilian Air Force in the Northeast Region, the Museum encourages research, preservation and dissemination of aeronautical culture since 1995. The collection consists of aircraft miniatures, photographs, news, personal objects of important figures in the history of aviation Brazilian, such as Brigadier Eduardo Gomes, in addition to several aeronautical pieces. The most recent history of the Second Regional Air Command (COMAR II) gained an exclusive room to be immortalized.

The Head of the Museum, Colonel Aviator Fernando da Cunha Machado, states that “the cultural space is indispensable for the dissemination of the memory of aviation in the Northeast region”. The museum, which was previously based at COMAR II, took 8 months to occupy the new headquarters, time necessary for renovations and transfer of the collection.
