The high movement in the country's airports has been stimulating and expanding the national air network. Proof of this is that the country gained in recent months dozens of new routes to destinations that were reactivated and to those that, until then, had no commercial activity in the country.
A survey carried out by the Ministry of Tourism with airlines brought some of these flights that will reinforce the connectivity of Brazilian cities and expand the tourist offer within Brazil.
Gol Linhas Aéreas highlighted the offer of more than 30 new domestic flights. Of these, ten are to destinations to which the company had not flown before, as was the case of Salvador (BA)/Teixeira de Freitas (BA), Santa Maria (RS) and Guarulhos (SP). This includes, for example, opening bases in these locations.
The others include new routes from places where Gol has never taken off to the company's existing bases. An example of this was the city of Montes Claros (MG) that won flights to Brasília (DF) and Salvador (BA).
Latam inaugurated, in 2022, flights connecting the airports of São Paulo/Guarulhos and Montes Claros (MG); Juiz de Fora (MG); Presidente Prudente (SP); Cascavel (PR) and Caxias do Sul (RS), in addition to the new Brasília (DF)-Sinop (MT) route.
In addition, the company resumed another 10 routes: Belo Horizonte/Confins-Curitiba; Belo Horizonte/Confins-Vitoria; Curitiba-Fortaleza; Curitiba-Foz do Iguaçu; Florianópolis-Rio de Janeiro/Santos Dumont; Fortaleza-Vitoria; Rio de Janeiro/Galeão-Foz do Iguaçu; Goiânia-Rio de Janeiro/Santos Dumont; São Paulo/Congonhas-Uberlândia and Curitiba-Porto Alegre.
In September, Azul Linhas Aéreas launched a new flight option for the Route of Emotions. According to the company, starting this month, the company will increase its presence in Parnaíba and Jericoacoara, which are part of the region, with four weekly flights to the city of São Paulo.
Still according to the company, the state of Piauí will gain another base, starting in December. The city of São Raimundo Nonato, gateway to the Serra da Capivara National Park, will receive flights twice a week. The company also announced unprecedented flights to the interior of Minas Gerais and 26 new routes departing from Goiás, Pernambuco, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
ENGER MOVEMENT
The air sector is an important means of transportation in the country, always contributing to boost tourism. In 2021, one in ten Brazilians traveling used this transport to reach their next destination, according to the PNAD (National Household Sample Survey) Contínua Turismo 2020-2021 produced from a partnership between the Ministry of Tourism and the Instituto Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
In July of this year, more than 7,6 million engers flew across the country, making it the best month of the year for the sector, in addition to being the best result for July in three years (2020-2022).
Compared to 2019, the number represents 89% of the volume of engers transported. The numbers were disclosed this Tuesday (30.08), by the National Civil Aviation Agency.
