According to information from ANAC's Brazilian Aeronautical Registry (RAB), Azul reserved the registration plates PS-AJA (MSN 2741) and PS-AJB (MSN 2759).

The future PS-AJA is an aircraft just over 18 years old and previously operated by China Southern Airlines (B-6267), being recently transferred to AerCap under the registration OE-IAW. Interestingly, the aircraft has already been converted to a freighter (P2F), but has been stored since March at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, in China.

The PS-AJB in turn has 18 years of operations and also operated on China Southern Airlines (B-6270). The plane is part of AerCap, but is undergoing the conversion process to become a freighter in China. The aircraft has been in Guangzhou since April this year.

The arrival of the A321F is a more profitable option compared to the current Boeing 737-400F, which should have their leasing contracts not renewed. At Azul, the A321F will have the capacity to transport up to 25 tons of cargo in 14 palletized positions, increasing capacity to +14,6k tons per year.
