RIOgaleão will carry out a Simulated Security Exercise on October 27, 2023, from 10am to 12pm, close to RIOgaleão Cargo. This exercise will take place in a “full scale” format and will mobilize 200 people, distributed between RIOgaleão Cargo and the RIOgaleão Operations Center (COR) in Terminal 1. The objective is to put into practice the contingency plan for the security area, in accordance with the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation — RBAC No. 107.
“The safety of engers, employees and the airport community is our top priority. This exercise is essential to ensure that our team is adequately prepared to deal with crisis situations, without operational impact”, highlights Dimas Salvia, Director of Operations at RIOgaleão.
During the exercise, RIOgaleão's AVSEC (Aviation Security) team will simulate threats involving displacement and the presence of crowds, followed by an invasion of a restricted security area, which will evolve into a bomb threat. Therefore, there will also be a closure of the RIOgaleão Cargo entry routes, using the exit route for flow and counterflow during the period of activity and movement of people, who will act as actors.
The AVSEC Security Mock Exercise will feature from several key areas of the airport, including Security, Emergency, Airside, Operations, Crisis, Communication and IT.
Furthermore, there will be the participation and collaboration of public bodies and of the airport community. Among them are the Federal Police, the COT (PF Tactical Operations Center), the FAB (Brazilian Air Force), the Federal Revenue, the 17th Military Police Battalion, Municipal Guard, ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency) and Post Office.
