Aeroflot has put an estimate to hand over all 54 of its Sukhoi SSJ-100 planes to its subsidiary Rossiya Airlines by the end of 2022.

According to the company, this movement is part of a restructuring plan, where Aeroflot will be divided into three companies, the main one being Aeroflot, with Low Cost Pobeda and Rossiya Airlines, with part of a regional focus and on flights within the Russia itself.

Aeroflot is currently the largest operator of the Sukhoi SSJ-100, considering all companies and orders for the less successful aircraft. The first five SJ100s will arrive in Rossiya at the end of 2020 and another 44 will arrive in 2021.

Overall, Rossiya expects to have a fleet of nearly 250 aircraft, mostly Russian-made, until 2028.

The reformulation also includes the transfer of the well-known 737-800, which will start operating by Pobeda, a low-cost airline, and the 777 will operate by Rossiya Airlines, which already operates flights.

In this way Aeroflot can have a fleet of only Airbus and Irkut planes.

The plan also involves a target of 130 million people flying on Aeroflot or its subsidiary airlines by 2028.
