With a view to renewing its fleet, the airline Royal Jordanian signed a purchase intention agreement for 10 aircraft from the E-Jet E2 family, from Embraer.

The aircraft must replace the Embraer E175 and E190-E1 aircraft, in addition to the Airbus A319, with the new E190-E2 and E195-E2 aircraft, says the agreement between the companies. Currently, Royal Jordanian has two E175-E1 units and two E190-E1 aircraft, in addition to 5 A319ceo.

The purchase intention was signed by Vice President of Royal Jordanian Samer Majali and Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aircraft, at the Istanbul Airshow, during the visit to the event of the E195-E2 with the Tech Lion livery.

One of the benefits for Royal Jordanian is the rapid transition of crew to the new E-Jet model, which is why the agreement was closed with Embraer.

The Embraer E2 is able to accomplish this at low cost for engers and profitability for the airline, in addition to offering a superior travel experience. The E190-E2 entered service in 2018 and is a single-aisle jet with capacity for up to 114 engers with a two-seat configuration on each side.
