The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) announced that the program for the new SSJ-100 has made important advances so that its production can start as soon as possible, in order to overcome commercial obstacles.
Due to Western sanctions from the war in Ukraine, the new Superjet SSJ-100 had to replace 38 imported systems and components, which seems to have been a barrier overcome by the Russians.
According to information from Portal Simple flying, SibNIIA Institute, the largest aviation scientific research center in Eastern Russia, is close to completing certification tests for the new airframe and fuselage of the new Irkut Superjet SSJ-100. Tests with the new aircraft are scheduled to take place in January 2023.
With that, after the conclusion of the tests and certification, it is estimated that the SSJ-New will start to be produced by 2024.

Designed to carry between 87 and 98 ages, the new Irkut Superjet SSJ-100 is an updated version of the Sukhoi Superjet 100. Interestingly, the Superjet 100 no longer bears the Sukhoi name after a United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) reorganization leaving responsible for the production of the jet.
Sukhoi, on the other hand, now focuses only on the production of military aircraft. In addition to Sukhoi, Yakovlev Design Bureau and AeroComposit were also two other Russian aerospace giants that became part of Irkut, which is part of the UAC conglomerate.
With international sanctions banning the export of western aircraft and parts to Russia, the country is now accelerating the manufacture of domestic aircraft, such as the SSJ100, an updated version of the IL-96, and the brand new MC-21, the most modern design. from Russia until then.
