The first prototype of the Il-30V light transport aircraft, built under contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense, flies for the first time this Saturday (03/112). This is a new military aircraft, developed by Ilyushin through the PJSC division of the UAC.
The UAC noted that the first flight was preceded by a series of ground tests, including a high-speed taxi, to determine whether the aircraft's systems were ready for the first mission.
The plane was fully developed in Voronezh, Russia, and was the first military transport plane created from scratch in the post-Soviet period.

In Russia the proposal is to use the IL-112V to replace the Antonov An-26. It is equipped with two TV7-117CT turboprop engines with a maximum takeoff power of 3100 hp.
The proposal is to carry up to 5 tons of cargo, taking off on short, unpaved runways. The plane can fly at a speed of up to 470 km/h.
