Russia received the second batch of new Su-35S fighters in a year

Rostec, a Russian state corporation, has announced the transfer of the second batch of new Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Aerospace Forces within a year. The last delivery took place in the year 2022.

The Ministry of Defense has received the second batch of new Su-35S multirole fighters from Rostec, according to information from the corporation's press service. Each fighter underwent flight tests in various operating modes with technical services before being delivered.

“Thanks to government , UAC companies involved in the state defense procurement program, including the Komsomolsk-on-Amur plant, received a significant amount of funding under a technology upgrade and manufacturing modernization program. New locations and crafting facilities have been released. All this allows for mass production and production to be increased”, said Yury Slyusar, Director General of the United Aircraft Corporation.

And he added: “We will uphold all of our obligations under the concluded contracts. The next batches of the Su-35 are currently in the manufacturing process. In addition, more fifth-generation Su-57 fighters are expected to be supplied to the Russian Aerospace Force this year.”

The Su-35S is a four-generation++ fighter built on separate fifth-generation technologies. Equipped with a new avionics complex, a phased antenna array radar with an increased detection range of air targets. It also has a greater number of targets tracked and fired simultaneously. 

According to Rostec, the new Su-35S aircraft were delivered to the Russian Aerospace Force on June 23, 2023.
