The Boeing 737-800 registration EI-DHH suffered a failure in its landing gear while braking on the runway in Dublin. With the landing gear collapsing, the plane even deviated to the left side of the runway, but the crew was able to control and maintain the course.

Despite the high speed during landing, the Ryanair Boeing 737 managed to stop inside the runway, avoiding an excursion outside the runway limits.

An emergency was immediately declared at Dublin International Airport (DUB) and emergency crews promptly responded to the Ryanair flight. The airport was closed for some time, diverting four other flights that were approaching at the time.

The Fire Department checked the damage to the aircraft and soon found that there was no smoke or fire and authorized the engers to disembark, which occurred normally. After the finding, runway 28R/10L was opened for takeoffs and landings but runway 28L/10R remained closed.

Images shared on social media show that the landing gear of the Boeing 737-800 was practically without the two tires dragging the main component of the nose gear on the runway.

“This flight from Liverpool to Dublin had a minor technical issue with the nose gear on landing. engers and crew disembarked normally and the aircraft will shortly be towed back to the hangar for inspection by Ryanair engineers.” the airline said in a statement.
