A Ryanair managed to take advantage of the flight cancellation scenario of English airlines British Airways, easyJet and TUI. The ultra-low-cost airline has boosted its operations with an extra 1000 flights between July and August, plus 200 in the coming weeks.
Ryanair's focus is on serving people who had their airline tickets canceled this European summer. For this reason, the flights will also have a low market value, below that normally practiced by the company in this period.
Ryanair's director of marketing and communications, Dara Brady, said the initiative should end in September 2022. However, Brady warned that flight bookings will only be accepted until June 23, 2022.
“While BA, easyJet and TUI cancel thousands of flights across the UK, causing disruption to travel for British families, Ryanair continues to operate a full schedule of over 15000 flights a week and today (June 20) we have added more than 200 extra flights to and from our 19 UK airports to help BA, easyJet and TUI customers who have been hurt by these cancellations. UK families can now rest easy knowing that Ryanair will fly them to and from their summer holiday destination to enjoy some well-earned rest with friends and family.”, said Ryanair's Dara Brady.
The company pointed out that it operates almost 15000 flights a week in this high season, without considering the extra flights that will be implemented. Other companies are currently facing a lack of professionals to work on the ground or in the air, or are facing tough strikes that cancel dozens of flights consecutively.
