São Luís International Airport (SLZ), managed by CCR Aeroportos, ed, this Friday afternoon (18), a rare landing of a Boeing 757-200, chartered by the Icelandic company Icelandair. On board the aircraft was a group of foreign tourists.
The flight departed, on October 30, from the city of Seattle, on the American west coast, bound for Japan, ing through Vietnam, Laos, Turkey, Eritrea, Benin and, on November 18, it arrived in Brazil, having been São Luís the city chosen for the landing because it is closer to Lençóis Maranhenses – the group’s last tourist destination – and because the capital’s airport has adequate facilities for international operations.

The Boeing 757-200 has capacity for more than 220 engers, has a wingspan of 38 meters and a length of 47 meters.
The aircraft – which had last landed at the capital's airport more than a decade ago – will remain in São Luís for a few days, and then tourists will fly back to the United States, after 24 days of a transcontinental tour.
