The company Azul Linhas Aéreas announced, on January 17, a new daily flight to New York. According to a survey carried out by the KAYAK, the largest travel planning tool in the world, the search for airline tickets to the city increased by 54%.
The flight, which will start on June 15, 2020, will connect Viracopos Airport, in Campinas, with John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Despite the increase in the offer of flights to the Big Apple, the KAYAK research also showed a 37% increase in the prices of air tickets to the destination, for trips from June 15 to December 31, 2020. Until June, however, prices will vary.

The search was carried out on 30/01/2020 in the KAYAK Brazil database, searching for return flights in economy class from V, CGH and GRU airports to JFK (NYC).
Searches made between January 1 to 16, 2020 (before the announcement) with January 17 to 30, 2020 (after the announcement) were compared for trips from June 15 to December 31, 2020.
