Airlines ABAETÉ, AZUL, GOL, LATAM and VOE are offering 29,8 million seats for domestic and international flights during the high summer season, which starts on December 15 and runs until February 28. This number represents a 12% increase compared to last season. In total, there are 184 flights*. The figures were announced on Monday (11) at an event that marked the renewal of the “Conheça o Brasil: Voando” program, an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, in partnership with the Ministry of Ports and Airports, the Brazilian Association of Airlines (ABEAR) and airlines to boost the country's aviation sector through actions such as stopovers, promotion of new destinations and aircraft charting.
“This offer demonstrates the solid recovery of the sector. Companies are demonstrating their confidence and commitment with more investments to expand their network, especially internationally. We transported more than 100 million engers last year, which already indicated the potential for further growth. Our associates increased the number of flights in all regions of Brazil, and this shows that we are on the right track to transport more and more engers and make air travel increasingly democratic,” says ABEAR president Jurema Monteiro.
The Southeast region will see a 16,1% increase in seats, with highlights including the resumption of international flights in Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais and the growth of domestic flights in Espírito Santo. In the South, growth will be 6,5%, with Santa Catarina offering twice as many international seats as last year. In the Northeast, companies are also betting on the international recovery, with Ceará growing 57,7% and Pernambuco, 42,7%. In the Midwest, the variation is 14,8%, with Mato Grosso do Sul increasing domestic supply by more than 25%. In the North region, companies increased the availability of tickets in Acre, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia and Roraima.
