ITA Airways Airbus A350

We are close to the resumption of connections between São Paulo and Rome by an Italian airline. ITA Airways will initially use the Airbus A330 from June 02nd to fly on this route, but on August 04th will change equipment to the A350.

ADVERTISING

The Airbus A350 is a new addition to the ITA Airways fleet, and a big difference to Alitalia's previous product, a Boeing 777. Airbus' new generation aircraft is quieter and more economical, and should bring greater enger comfort.

The interior of this ITA Airways A350 is configured in a two-class layout, with 334 seats, including 33 executive seats and 301 economy seats. The aircraft will be operated by the company on a leasing basis, through ALAFCO.

Nas photos below we can see that the ITA Airways product is very similar to the interior of the Boeing 787 of LATAM, as well as the new A330-900neo of Azul Linhas Aéreas.

Business Class is made up of seats distributed 1-2-1, so everyone has access to the aisle at any time. The seat also reclines 180 degrees, turning into a bed during the flight.

In Economy Class, on the other hand, there are 301 seats, distributed in a 3-3-3 pattern, at a level of comfort that we are already familiar with on other planes that also operate international flights.

It's not the most comfortable configuration in the world, like Qatar Airways, Emirates and Lufthansa, but adequate compared to other competitors.

The main competitor on the route is LATAM, which will operate three weekly flights from July 09th to route between Sao Paulo and Rome. The operation will rely on Boeing 777 aircraft, with capacity for 372 engers in Economy class and 38 engers in Business.

In the coming years, ITA plans to receive new A220 (15 planes), A320neo (11 planes) and A330neo (5 planes), in addition to the Airbus A350 (8 planes in total). The new company will replace all 53 old planes coming from Alitalia. Currently, two A350 aircraft are already in the ITA fleet.
