See the 10 most punctual airlines of 2019

Cirium, a London-based analytics firm, recently released a ranking of the 10 most punctual airlines in 2019.

More than 100 flights were analyzed to make the list, and as a novelty, Azul is among the top 10.

See below the top 10 of the most punctual companies in 2019 (with the index of flights departing on time beside):

1. 1. Aeroflot - 86.7%
   2. All Nippon Airways – 86.3%
   3. Delta Air Lines - 85.7%
   4. Azul Brazilian Airlines – 83.5%
   5. Japan Airlines – 82.2%
   6. Alitalia - 82%
   7. Air – 81.1%
   8. Emirates – 81.02%
   9. Korean Air – 80.3%
   10. SAS – 79.9%

It is worth mentioning that the LATAM Group ranked first when we consider the group of airlines. However, it is not possible to state that the punctuality index of 86,67%, informed by Cirium, is the same as the Brazilian branch, since all branches are considered in the statistics.

Airports

Cirium also prepared a ranking with the most punctual airports in the entire planet, unfortunately here we do not have the presence of any Brazilian airport.

OAG Ranking

Another ranking, thePunctuality List 2020”, elaborated by the company OAG (Official Airline Guide), revealed by category and also with more information the 20 most punctual airlines in the entire planet.

In the table below we can see the general ranking, which considers information from 20 airlines. In coverage we have the percentage of analyzed flights, and in OTP 2019 we have the punctuality index.

Highlights in the table below for LATAM, as previously mentioned, and Copa Airines, two companies in Latin America that lead the ranking.

In the table below, we have a ranking with the most punctual companies in the world, considering only those with more than 150 aircraft in their fleet, the Mega Airlines. In this, LATAM leads the list.

Interestingly, OAG considers Azul a Low Cost, unlike Cirium, and it appears only in the ranking of Low Cost companies, despite the punctuality rate above 80%.

GOL, which also has a considerable fleet of aircraft, appears in the list below, with a punctuality rating of 78,04%.
