Judge Luciana Menezes Scorza judged the case of possible crimes by the businessman, in a lawsuit filed by Camilo Cola Filho, heir to the Itapemirim Group.

“It appears from the records that the investigated person, taking advantage of the condition of manager of the judicial recovery process described in the criminal investigative procedure ordinance, has been, gradually since, at least August 2020, appropriating the values of the “recovered” companies to create companies parallel, notably, in the case of the file, Itapemirim Aérea (ITA Group), which generated millionaire losses for at least 45.000 engers and countless crew who were stripped of their labor rights (art. 203 of the )”, said Judge Luciana Menezes Scorza in her decision in the process.

In addition, the Federal Police began investigations involving the Itapemirim Group in the last days of 2021 seeking clarification on the interruption of flights by the transport group company in the last week. The suspension of ITA flights left thousands of engers unable to return home during Christmas week.

The investigation has two focuses, one focused on the entire way in which Itapemirim's operations were carried out in the marketing of flights across the country that left thousands of engers without flying this year-end. The other focus will be on the businesses established by the company's owner, businessman Sidnei Piva, in the cryptocurrency business.
