The event will be attended by specialists in the field and associations such as: Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), Brazilian Airlines Association (ABEAR), Civil Aviation Safety (SAC) and the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA).

The workshop will highlight some of the most challenging and pertinent topics such as who the key players are and what their goals are, how the challenges faced by those in the IT and aviation industries change as the threat landscape and actors evolve, where they are gaps and what needs to be done to address them.

In 2017, Airline IT Trends survey revealed that 95% of respondents plan to invest in cybersecurity programs in the next three years. Additionally, around 72% of CIOs, chief IT officers in the civil aviation industry, have plans to make significant acquisitions in cybersecurity by 2020.

In an industry heavily reliant on technology in such crucial functions, the threat of an attack appears on multiple fronts. Airlines and airports need to focus on developing an effective strategy to protect their data, systems and reputation.
