The regular route Florianópolis x Santiago de Chile opens this Sunday (03/07), with the landing of the first flight scheduled for approximately 17:00.
Initially, there will be three flights per week, carried out by the SKY Airline area, with an A320neo model aircraft, which has capacity for 186 engers.
The route becomes the second regular international operation from the Capital airport, an unprecedented fact for Santa Catarina. Flights to Chile were only operated during the high season. Hercílio Luz's other regular international flight is to Buenos Aires, Argentina, operated by Gol, which resumed at the end of March.
For the inaugural flight, the concessionaire prepared a special reception for engers, with the delivery of gifts.
“The return of direct flights from Chile to Florianópolis demonstrates the market's confidence in the safe resumption of tourism. In 2019, SKY transported 20% of all Chileans who visited Santa Catarina”, says Ricardo Gesse, CEO of Zurich Airport Brasil, the concessionaire that manages Florianópolis International Airport.
“The Chilean market is one of the bets for this season in Santa Catarina. The country has more than 60% of its population immunized and the coast of Santa Catarina is close for families who want to spend their first summer in the “post-pandemic” safely.”
