SpaceX plans for Friday the 15Km jump of the Starship prototype

SpaceX is due to carry out this Friday (04/12), the biggest test ever carried out with its Starship rocket prototype. The test itself is a 15km “jump”, which is much longer than the 150 meter jumps. that have already been carried out.

Testing is expected to take place around 9:14 am EST (18:23 pm UTC) or XNUMX:XNUMX pm EST (XNUMX:XNUMX UTC) at the company's test site in Boca Chica, South Texas.

However, Elon Musk's company is waiting for authorization from the FAA (Federal Aviation istration) to carry out the flight.

The Starship will be able to carry up to 100 tons of cargo to the ISS, for example. However, Space-X is also focused on using the spacecraft for missions to the Moon and Mars.

For such missions the Starship will be equipped with 30 Raptor engines, "making it the most powerful rocket ever built", told SpaceX.
