Swissport is awarded in the Excellence Program of Azul Linhas Aéreas

Swissport Brazil, a subsidiary of Swissport International, the world's leading provider of ground services for the aviation industry, was chosen as the best ground handling base in 2016 by Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras in Category A (hubs and larger airports) at Confins Airport

 

Swissport's ground operation for Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras at Confins International Airport, in the Metropolitana de Belo Horizonte region (MG), was voted the best in category A, which includes the largest and most complex operations in Brazil. within the Excellence Program (PEX). 

 

The announcement of the names of employees and partners who had the best performance in 2016 was made last Tuesday night, May 9th, at UniAzul headquarters, in Campinas (SP). Azul's PEX was created precisely to recognize among employees and partners those who had the best performance throughout the year. Azul conducts four evaluations throughout the year (audits) of operations to indicate the best ones.

“All of us at Swissport are very proud of this recognition and the Confins team is especially happy because they worked hard to show evolution in performance throughout the year”, said Gustavo Couto, COO (chief operations officer) of Swissport.

In Confins, Swissport serves almost 31 flights per year for Azul and has a team of 340 employees. In addition, Swissport Brazil is also responsible for Azul's ground handling at the company's main hub, at Viracopos Airport, in Campinas, sp). With around 750 employees, Swissport serves more than 58 flights a year at this major hub. 

Currently, in Brazil, Swissport is present in 12 airports: Belo Horizonte (Confins), Brasília, Manaus, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro (Galeão and Santos Dumont), Salvador, São Paulo (Congonhas, Guarulhos and Viracopos – Campinas ) and Victoria. It has more than 5.000 employees and offers services in the field of ground handling, cargo, executive aviation and aviation security.
