TAAG begins gradual transfer of commercial flights to AIAAN Airport

TAAG AIAAN Airport

TAAG, Angolan Airlines, announced the beginning of the process of gradually transferring its commercial enger operations from 4 de Fevereiro International Airport to the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN). The aim is to offer a more efficient and modern service to its engers. This process, regulated by Executive Decree, began on November 10 with flights on the Luanda-Cabinda-Luanda route.

The choice of Cabinda as the first route to be transferred is based on the fact that it is the domestic destination with the highest volume of enger and cargo traffic. With flights available in the morning, afternoon and evening, this transfer will allow the permanent activation of the different teams and operational systems of AIAAN.

To offer greater flexibility and convenience to its customers, TAAG will offer four daily flights to Cabinda, with departures and arrivals exclusively at Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport. The flights will be operated with a Dash 8-Q400 aircraft, with capacity for 74 engers.

Later, during the month of December, TAAG will incorporate the routes of the Eastern region (Dundo, Saurimo and Luena) and Soyo into the flight schedule from AIAAN. Progressively, in the first quarter of 2025, the transfer of the remaining domestic and international routes will be completed.

The phased approach to transferring TAAG’s commercial enger flights to AIAAN follows international best practices in aviation change management, ensuring a safe, efficient transition focused on continuous improvement of customer service.

TAAG is committed to ensuring that this transition occurs smoothly, prioritizing operational safety and continuity of services, in order to ensure compliance with engers' comprehensive travel plans.

By starting the Cabinda route, the company seeks to ensure that its operations at the new airport begin in a solid and safe manner, optimizing processes and providing a positive and reliable experience for engers.

Access to Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport will be provided by Caminho de Ferro de Luanda (CFL), by the company Transportes Coletivos Urbanos de Luanda (TCUL), in addition to the option of using private vehicles or private shuttle services and personalized taxis.

To keep its customers permanently informed, TAAG has a multichannel communication strategy in place, which includes call center service, SMS, email, website, digital platforms, network of partner agencies and its own stores.

TAAG reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the Angolan Government's strategy of positioning Luanda as a regional hub, making the most of the infrastructures of the new AIAAN.
