TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola has just signed three commercial agreements during the Paris Air Show 2023 event, in , for the incorporation of Airbus A220-300 model aircraft in its operation.
TAAG formalized the order for nine aircraft in just three days of the event (June 19, 20 and 21), materialized in long-term lease contracts, under a dry lease regime. In other words, the planes will be crewed and maintained by TAAG. In addition, the aircraft will have TAAG's characteristic colors and branding, maintaining visual compliance with the fleet.
Currently, through international partners (lessors), TAAG has 15 A220-300 model aircraft ordered from the manufacturer Airbus, with an estimated phased delivery starting in April 2024.
The leasing model is an agile and financially sustainable investment approach for the company's context. At the same time, the Airbus A220-300 is a state-of-the-art aircraft in of efficiency and average consumption, with TAAG estimating savings of around 25% in fuel costs and a reduction in operating costs of 20% globally. . The Airbus A220 has capacity for 142 engers (130 in economy class and 12 in business class).
