TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola announces an agreement with AerCap Holdings, a global leader in aviation leasing, to incorporate a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft into the Company's fleet, which is scheduled for delivery in February 2025. This aircraft will cover the Company's regional and intercontinental routes, also representing an improvement in TAAG's product, comfort and enger experience.
“This agreement with AerCap represents an important milestone for our company, being an essential step that will also enable the modernization process of our fleet. The introduction of the Boeing 787-9 reinforces our commitment to the best standards of efficiency and sustainability, while expanding our capacity to connect Angola to key international destinations. TAAG is deeply committed to offering our engers a differentiated travel experience, while optimizing operating costs and promoting an increasingly sustainable air mobility solution”, says Nelson de Oliveira, Chairman of the Executive Committee of TAAG.
Aengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap, who looks forward to building a long and fruitful relationship with the Angolan airline, expressed his satisfaction with this agreement, especially as it is the first international partner to facilitate the inclusion of the Boeing 787-9 in TAAG’s fleet. “As part of the fleet modernization program, the 787-9 will allow TAAG to expand its operations in Africa, Europe and Asia with one of the most fuel-efficient wide-body aircraft on the market, contributing to the increase in enger flow on its routes,” said the CEO of AerCap.
TAAG flights currently depart from Guarulhos International Airport in São Paulo on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. From there, the company connects Brazil to eight African cities, as well as Lisbon in Europe. All destinations offer the option of stopover in Luanda, lasting from 24 hours to up to five days. Since last year, Brazilian tourists no longer need a visa to visit Angola, making access to the country even easier.
