Direct connections between Angola and Brazil returned with the resumption of TAAG (Transportes Aéreos Angolanos) flights from Luanda to São Paulo. The first flight of the resumption was carried out on the night of this Thursday (03) by the aircraft registration D2-TEG.
Direct connections between the two countries were suspended due to the complicated period of the pandemic, specifically low demand. The company even operated flights in late 2020 and early 2021 to Brazil, but soon canceled the route.
TAAG too expected to resume flights in March, however, due to the onset of the second wave of Covid-19 in Brazil, the company aborted its planning.
In the coming days, TAAG will also resume operations on some regional and international routes. Specifically for Brazil, the flight will be carried out with the Boeing 777-300ER.
Even before the crisis caused by the Pandemic, to TAAG chose to cancel its flights between Luanda and Galeão Airport, in Rio de Janeiro. In this way, the company concentrated its connections at Guarulhos Airport, in Greater São Paulo, and in partnerships with national airlines to expand connectivity.
