TAP announces its new operation for the summer of 2024, highlighting an increase of eleven weekly flights in Brazil, bringing the total number of departures from Portugal to 91 per week. With these new frequencies, the airline exceeds the number of pre-pandemic flights.
Recife gains three more weekly flights from Lisbon, going from seven to ten, and Rio de Janeiro grows from ten to twelve. São Paulo, Belém, Brasília, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre and Salvador will also have one more weekly flight to and from Portugal.
With 91 weekly flights in the peak of summer, directly connecting 11 of the main capitals in Brazil to Lisbon and Porto, TAP reinforces its presence in the market, with a greater opportunity for products for customers between Brazil and Europe.
However, TAP's additional summer offers for 2024 are not limited to Brazil. The Portuguese airline will also increase its operation in Maputo, Mozambique, to four weekly flights, instead of the current three.
In North America, Toronto, Canada, will increase to 13 weekly flights, and San Francisco, California, will also increase to six weekly flights in peak summer, up from five weekly in 2023.
In Europe, Italy will be the focus of TAP's European growth. Rome gains one more daily flight, which increases the offer to five daily operations to and from the Italian capital, totaling 35 weekly frequencies. Florence, the capital of the Renaissance, will also increase from eight to ten flights a week.
This development is planned without resorting to external contracting of aircraft, and is possible after a first review of the network and readjustments in some current frequencies.
With these increases for the 2024 summer peak, TAP continues on its path towards a sustainable recovery in the long term, focusing on the development of its main routes and offering the Customer a superior proposal.
Currently, TAP has direct flights from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife and Salvador, to Lisbon, in addition to connecting Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. January. In total, there are 11 cities in Brazil (13 routes) that TAP connects directly to Europe.
