TAP will be the first to receive the new Airbus A330neo

TAP Portugal signed an agreement with Airbus to be the launch customer of the A330neo, the newest aircraft wide body from the European manufacturer. TAP will also be the first to be willing to use the new Air Space concept, as announced by Aeroflap last week, which incorporates a new type of LED lighting, combined with a different design for the interior of the aircraft and a modern and advanced entertainment system.

Last year TAP changed its order book at Airbus, the 12 A350-900XWB were changed to 14 A330-900neo, which according to TAP at the time, is an aircraft more suitable for the long range proposal of company. In addition, 15 A320neo and 24 A321neo were ordered to reinforce the aircraft route narrow body the company.

Airbus is confident that it will be able to deliver the first unit of the A330neo by the end of 2017, already with the new Air Space interior. At the moment, the manufacturer is working on assembling the first test prototype, which, according to Airbus' schedule, will fly later this year.
