Infraero announced that it will end its management of ten state airports in Ceará at the end of April. The information was communicated through a letter sent to the Brazilian General Aviation Association (ABAG).
The airports were granted to Infraero in August 2023 for management, operation, maintenance and conservation. With the departure of the state-owned company, the government of Ceará is already planning the emergency hiring of private s to continue the operation of the aerodromes.
The document sent to ABAG details the dates on which Infraero will cease to manage each airport:
22/04 – Quixadá and Tauá;
23/04 – Sobral, Crateús and Iguatu;
24/04 – Camocim, Campos Sales and Sao Benedito;
29/04 – Aracati;
30/04 – Jericoacoara.
The state-owned company did not provide the reason why it is leaving the management of these terminals.
