O LATAM Airlines Group was highlighted as the most sustainable airline group in the Americas, Europe and Oceania, in addition to being the fourth in the world in the 2022 edition of the Standard & Poor's Sustainability (S&P) yearbook.
51 companies in the sector were evaluated using criteria that measure the best environmental, social and corporate governance practices. This year, LATAM won the Bronze category and had outstanding management in the following areas: Environmental and Social Balance, Climate Strategy, enger Safety, Labor Practice Indicators, Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy, among others.
“We congratulate LATAM Airlines Group for winning the Bronze category in the 2022 Sustainability Yearbook, which highlights the best performing companies among their industry peers and in of financially significant ESG metrics. With more than 7.000 companies evaluated, an inclusion in the yearbook is a true statement of excellence in corporate sustainability,” said Manjit Jus, Worldwide Director of ESG Research at S&P Global.
It is worth ing that, last year, the group launched its sustainability strategy, highlighting its commitment to the protection of strategic ecosystems in South America, the migration to a zero-waste model for landfills and making its connectivity capacity available to and benefiting the continent's communities.
The strategic lines of action were designed in collaboration with experts and environmental organizations from across the continent and seek to make the group a carbon neutral company by 2050.
