Airbus has opened its second A320 full flight simulator at the Airbus Chile Training Center (ACTC), located at the Airbus facilities at Tobalaba Aerodrome in Santiago.
The 1.700 square meter facility provides training for Airbus operators in Chile and houses complete A320 pilot training equipment. Since its inauguration in 2021, ACTC has trained around 1.000 pilots from Chilean carriers LATAM Airlines, SKY and JetSMART, ing the operations and ramp-up of A320 Family aircraft in their growing fleet.
Airbus predicts in its Global Services Forecast for Latin America the need to train more than 30 pilots over the next two decades in the region. Therefore, doubling training capacity with the addition of a second simulator located in Chile will the growing training needs of Airbus' airline customers.
The A320 Family is the world's most popular single-aisle aircraft family and the preferred choice among airlines, from budget airlines to new business models, enjoying the benefits of new levels of performance and enger comfort.
ACTC is part of the Airbus global flight training network, made up of 20 locations around the world. This extensive and growing global network allows Airbus to offer a complete flight training package, allowing its customers to benefit from its training expertise closer to home base.
