A Spirit Airlines Airbus A319, registration N533NK, was moved to Aguadilla on November 27 for maintenance at the Lufthansa Technik facility in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
While the aircraft was being ed by jack stands, they gave way and caused extensive damage to the wings and also to the fuselage of the plane.
The right wing was severely damaged, along with some of the moving components such as flaps and speedbreaks.
There is still no official position from Spirit Airlines, nor on the extent of damage caused by the jack, and how they will be repaired on the aircraft.
