7º – Princess Juliana International Airport – St. Martin

World famous for its proximity to Maho Beach, Princess Juliana International Airport, on the island of Saint Martin, in the Caribbean, is a separate attraction for tourists visiting the destination.

Fun is guaranteed both for those about to land on the landing strip, located very close to the beach sand, and for bathers, who can relax watching the planes just a few meters above their heads.

From the top, engers also have a beautiful view of this Caribbean paradise. But attention: not everything is flowers. Getting too close to the runway can cause accidents. Once at the destination enjoy the “attraction” consciously and without putting your other lives in danger.

6th – Paro Airport – Bhutan

In the third largest city in Bhutan, Paro International Airport has emerged to challenge all those who want to explore the so-called “Kingdom of Happiness”. Only a select group of highly trained pilots are allowed to land or take off on Paro due to the high complexity of the operation.

Inserted in a valley with more than 2.200 meters of altitude and close to the Himalayas, the airport is surrounded by peaks with more than 5.500 meters. The landscape is breathtaking. Landings and takeoffs too…

5th – Barra Airport – Scotland

Asphalted landing strip? Nothing! At Barra Airport, in Scotland, takeoffs and landings literally take place on the beach!

Pilots, in addition to checking the weather conditions, also need to pay attention to periods of low tide, which is when the “runway” is not covered by water. Only small private planes are able to use the only airport in the world to operate on a beach.

4th – Courchevel Airport – French Alps

Stronghold of millionaires during the snow season in the northern hemisphere, the legendary ski resort of Courchevel, one of the most luxurious and popular in the world, is served by a simple airport with only 525 meters of track that ends in a cliff! If the region's low temperatures don't chill your spine, landing and takeoff certainly will. Despite the “risk”, the view over the snow is breathtaking.

3rd – Kansai International Airport, Osaka – Japan

If in Japan the lack of “space” is a constant problem, not even the scarcity of this precious resource was able to prevent the construction of the colossal Kansai International Airport, in Osaka.

Built in 1994, on an artificial island four kilometers long by one wide, the airport stands out for having the largest enger terminal in the world, at 1.700 meters.

2nd – Donegal Airport – Ireland

In the far north of Ireland, in County Donegal, a region relatively famous for ecotourism, Donegal Airport stands out for offering engers a landing worthy of a movie.

With an airstrip literally built in the middle of “nowhere”, it is possible to observe a bit of everything during the descent to the ground: rocks and mountains, golden sand beaches, crystal clear waters and the imposing Mount Errigal within sight. Donegal Airport, by the way, constantly appears in the polls promoted by the site Privatefly

1st – Qamdo Bangda Airport, Tibet

For tourists who collect curious destinations and are impressed by numbers, Qambo Bangda Airport, on the “roof of the world”, Tibet, offers very interesting metrics.

The place is considered the second highest airport in the world, located more than 4.300 meters above sea level. The record for the longest landing strip is also his. It is 5500 meters long to ensure that the impacts of altitude are minimized.
