The aircraft's systems detected a problem with air bleeding in engine 1, however the crew decided to continue with the trip to São Paulo. However, when flying close to Rio de Janeiro, a fire alarm in the cargo compartment sounded and the crew switched to Galeão Airport.

The Boeing 727 landed safely and without major problems. CENIPA classified what happened as an incident and the aircraft returned to operations the following day with the revisions carried out.

The PR-TTP is a Boeing 727-200 manufactured in 1978, originally received by the US airline Hughes Airwest. Operating enger flights for 6 companies, the 727 was converted into a freighter in 2000, owned by Pegasus Aviation.

The aircraft arrived at Total Linhas Aéreas in 2007, having already operated in South America for LAB of Bolivia. The aircraft is currently 43 years old and may be close to leaving the fleet, as the Total Linhas Aéreas ordered some Boeing 737s to make up the fleet and possibly replace the older 727s.
