Representatives of the Labor Court (TST) visited for a day and a half the work of auxiliary services to air transport, with air cargo and baggage, cleaning the aircraft from the inside, carrying out the prevention of acts of terrorism and handling ground equipment handling. The visit is part of the process that involves companies providing auxiliary services to air transport and discusses compliance with quotas for people with disabilities (PCD) in the airport sector.

The board of directors of Abesata (Brazilian Association of Air Transport Auxiliary Services Companies) accompanied the visit, as well as representatives of Senai who, together with the entity, have been helping to understand this issue since 2016.

“I think that now, everyone has the necessary subsidies to analyze the issue and understand what are the challenges that surround the fulfillment of quotas in our segment”, said Ricardo Aparecido Miguel, president of Abesata.

The visit was led by Cláudio Brandão, Minister of the Superior Labor Court, and rapporteur of the case, Luiz José Dezena da Silva, Minister of the Superior Labor Court, Mario Luiz Guerreiro, director of the Department of Labor Rights of the General Advocacy of the Union and Maria Aparecida Gurgel, member of the Ministry of Labor.

In parallel, and also as part of the attempt to make the application of the relevant legislation viable with the restrictions imposed by the activity at the airport, a public hearing was convened by the Superior Labor Court – TST – for June 14th in order to discuss the matter. .
