TUI Airways was the first airline to receive a Boeing 737 MAX after the entire process of a new certification for the model. The plane returned to flying in Europe a few weeks ago, however since December it had already returned to operations in other places.
TUI Airways received a Boeing 737 MAX 8 yesterday morning (28), landing at 9 am at London Airport – Gatwick (LGW). The aircraft ed G-TUMJ made the direct flight from Seattle, where Boeing Field is located, the flight lasted 9 hours and 24 minutes. Upon arriving at TUI, he received the baptismal name of Naples.

The aircraft should receive a configuration of 189 seats, the same configuration used on the 737-800NG. Currently with a reduced fleet due to demand and travel restrictions in some countries, TUI Airways' fleet comprises 32 Boeing 737-800s. 1 of which is active.
Consisting of 7 Boeings 737 MAX 8, with only 1 active. TUI has 4 Boeing 757s, 2 active, 2 Boeing 767-300 with only 1 active and 14 Boeing 787s, 8 of the -8 version with 1 active and 6 of the -9 version with 5 active.
TUI Airways UK airline still has 72 Boeing 737 MAX to receive in the coming years, the airline plans to make the model as its flagship product. The resumption of 737 MAX flights in Europe started with a subsidiary from TUI in Belgium, having operated a flight from Brussels to Malaga in Spain on February 17th.
