According to Haber.Aero Turkish portal, the company should order 30 aircraft in total, and due to the operating characteristics and lower operating costs, it opted for the Airbus aircraft.

For Turkish Airlines, which operates in the heart of the Asia-Europe divide, the longer range of the A220-300 is advantageous for the airline. The aircraft is capable of non-stop flights similar to the A320neo, with a slight advantage of a few kilometers.

The A220 is available in two versions, with the A220-100 seating between 100 and 130 engers and the larger A220-300 seating between 130 and 160, in typical airline layouts.

Turkish has revealed few details about the process of implementing regional aircraft in its fleet, and there is no information about which version of the A220 the company will order in the coming weeks. currently the Turkish Airlines operates with larger Airbus aircraft, from the A320, A330 and A350 family.
