While some aircraft are being redirected for companies that take advantage of the low prices at the moment, as a way to compose or renew their fleet, other companies take advantage of the moment to renew their stock.

This was the case of Werner Aero Services, which this week purchased two Embraer E190 aircraft, serial numbers MSN 118 and 149, which have already operated on Air Canada under registrations C-FMZU and C-FNAW, respectively.

However, the destination of these planes will not be to carry out flights with engers or cargo on board. The company will use these two planes for dismantling, reusing the components used to meet the demands of airlines.

Embraer's aircraft are currently in a storage condition, and their dismantling will begin shortly. The carcass will later be discarded for recycling, ending the history of these aircraft that have operated flights since 2008.

The reuse of components already used in the aeronautical market is common, due to the price of new parts. However, all components are catalogued, tly ing for cycles of use and flight hours.

There is a usage limit for all of them, which must be observed by the dismantling company and also by the future operator, who buys the component.

As before returning the aircraft to the lessor, the planes are usually completely overhauled and left in operational condition, it is normal to reuse a large number of components, including the engines.

“We are excited to be nearing the end of the devastating pandemic the world has endured and are preparing to meet projected demand from our customers. The regional market is the first to recover and Werner is the first to arrive. We are already seeing a significant increase in our customers' activities and we are preparing to them with just-in-time spare parts and engines. This is our first acquisition this year as we continue to pursue additional acquisitions of narrow-body aircraft and regional jets. We also seek to partner with airlines that are looking for logistical solutions that leverage our experience and assets”, declared Mike Cazaz, CEO of Werner Aero Services.
