The aircraft, manned by two pilots and an engineer, took off from PJSC VASO's airfield in Voronezh. According to the UAC, during the 30-minute flight, the aircraft's stability and controllability were tested, as well as the main systems and engine operating modes.

Sergei Yarkovoy, managing director of Ilyushin, says that since the aircraft's first flight on March 30, 2019, its systems have been refined and work has been carried out to reduce its weight, allowing it to move on to t tests with the defense ministry. Russian.

Yarkovoy adds that preparations are being made for serial production of up to 12 aircraft per year, ensuring a “steady” flow of work for the company.

According to the Russian state company Rostec, the plane's Klimov TV7-117ST engines "routinely worked" during the flight. The engines that can generate up to 3100hp were assembled entirely from Russian components.

“We are currently completing initial tests to confirm the 600h engine rebuild life”, said Klimov general designer Vsevolod Eliseev, adding that seven engines for bench tests and three pairs for flight tests were built.

The Il-112 was developed to replace the An-26, fulfilling missions of transporting troops, materials, light vehicles and other loads weighing up to five tons. The aircraft can also land on unpaved runways.
