USAF F-16 fighter crashes in Michigan, pilot still missing

An F-16 fighter from the Wisconsin Air National Guard's 115th Fighter Wing crashed yesterday, December 8, at around 20:XNUMX pm local time. The fighter crashed in the Upper Peninsula region of Michigan.

“At the time of the incident, the aircraft was on a routine training mission with a pilot on board. Emergency teams are on site. The cause of the accident, as well as the status of the pilot, are unknown at this time, and the incident is under investigation.”, says the statement from the 115th Fighter Wing.

A rescue team was sent to the scene, "Authorities located a crash site and also identified a wide area that could be the pilot's ejection site."

The 115th squadron announced a few days before the accident that the F-16 fighters would participate in a night training between the 7th and 10th of December.
