A video posted by the YouTube channel “Saint1 Aviation Vids”, shows a B-2A Spirt moving its control surfaces, the image shows in detail the rudder and elevon of the stealth aircraft.
Filming took place at Fairford Air Base in the UK in March last year. At the time the US bombers were carrying out a Bomber Task Force mission in Europe.
In the image above it is possible to notice the movement of their control surfaces, the split rudders and elevons are used to control the rotation of the aircraft along the vertical/yaw axis, while the pitch and roll are controlled through elevons ( medium and internal). Rudders can also be used as spoilers (air brakes).
The B-2As that are located in Fairford, fly across Europe. Such flights serve to demonstrate the military power of the USA in the region.
