During LABACE 2018 we had the pleasure of meeting Sérgio Giraldi who is one of the main captains of the first H145 in Brazil, a helicopter manufactured by Airbus Helicopters and belonging to CAF Táxi Aéreo.
In the video above, we recorded a bit of our conversation with the Captain, talking about the aircraft's systems and its automatic landing capabilities in addition to off-shore operations.
We can even see the modern Helionix digital , which in addition to improving and facilitating the flight, also reduces the cost of maintenance and training for pilots and mechanics and is present in different models of Airbus Helicopters.
The system has three multifunctional screens that integrate various functions such as a digital map, synthetic vision, increased situational awareness, the most advanced four-axis autopilot on the market (with the ability to perform automatic hovering), among other differentials.
Among other capabilities of this helicopter is the provision of seats to transport up to 10 people, with a considerable luggage compartment in the rear. In addition, the helicopter can have its seats removed to transport cargo, or perform Air ICU service, transporting patients between hospitals.
An important detail of this plane is the Fenestron technology on the tail rotor, which protects engers and ground operators from any with the rotor, preventing accidents on the ground.
Detail, at the time of recording this video, Sérgio told our team that they were waiting for ANAC approval to insert this helicopter in the company's air taxi fleet. The delivery of this aircraft took place in February of this year.
This helicopter is widely used in military aviation, with the H145M variant. Launched in 2001, Airbus has delivered more than 1250 units of the H145.
