Vietjet signs letter of intent to order 50 Airbus A321neo aircraft

Vietjet signed today at the Farnborough Airshow a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for the order of 50 aircraft of the A321neo model.

In this way, Vietjet can reach 123 orders for the A321neo, ing for a previous commitment by the company.

Interestingly, Vietjet ordered 100 aircraft of the 737 MAX model this week. Boeing's agreement with Vietjet involves 80 planes of the 737 MAX 10 model, and another 20 of the 737 MAX 8 variant. In total, all these planes are worth US$ 12,7 billion. The contract also includes the training of pilots and mechanics at the company to operate these aircraft, in addition to fleet management.

Vietjet is Vietnam's first private airline and also the country's first low-cost airline. The company plans to rapidly expand its operations to take advantage of the growing demand in the Asian market in the coming years.

In all, the company operates with 59 aircraft of the A320 family, serving 30 destinations in Asia.
