Vietjet closed today with Boeing a firm order for another 100 aircraft of the 737 MAX family, in a contract valued at US$ 12,7 billion, considering the list price of the aircraft.
In this contract, VietJet opted for 80 aircraft of the 737 MAX 10 model, and another 20 of the 737 MAX 8 model. The larger size of the MAX 10 variant will allow the company to significantly increase its offer of seats, without having to launch new flights in some destinations .
The contract was signed during a ceremony in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, in the presence of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the Secretary General of the Vietnamese Communist Party, Nguyen Phu Trong.
The company also opted for Boeing's service to provide training for pilots and mechanics, as well as assistance in aircraft maintenance with the supply of parts.
VietJet adds today's order to another placed in 2016, for 100 aircraft of the 737 MAX family.
