The cars and equipment for the Formula 1 Heineken GP of São Paulo 2022 began to arrive in the country at the end of the night of this Monday, the 31st of October, at the International Airport of Viracopos, in Campinas (SP), which is the official airport of the event. In all, approximately 10 tons will be transported by eight Boeing aircraft, seven of which are B700-747F and one B400-777F. The first three flights have already landed.
The first flight, coming from Mexico, landed in Viracopos late this Monday night (08/11), at 23:27. The second flight landed at 4:20 am this Tuesday (01/11) and the third flight at 15:25 pm.

This year Viracopos completes the 20th consecutive operation of unloading and boarding all the cargo of the GP Brasil de Formula 1. In 2020, the GP was canceled due to the pandemic.
This time, there will be eight consecutive flights of equipment arriving at the Cargo Terminal on 31/10, 01/11, 02/11 and 03/11. As for the equipment leaving the country, there will be seven flights, which will take off on 15/11 and 16/11 to Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates.
Viracopos set up a special operation to streamline the operation. The F1 cars and equipment will be transported by truck train to Interlagos. The first convoy, with the equipment from the first two flights, left this Tuesday morning (01/11) for the capital of São Paulo.
The entire operation involves at least 120 people from different areas of the airport, including public bodies, cargo agents, airlines and companies contracted for the transport and logistics of the operation. At least one hundred truck trips are planned to transport all the equipment and cars for the six flights to São Paulo.
“Viracopos is the official airport of Formula 1 and our goal is to continue to carry out this operation at the Viracopos Cargo Terminal with great agility and safety, showing that Viracopos is among the most prepared and efficient airports in the world”, said the CEO of Viracopos, Gustavo Müssnich.
“The infrastructure of the Cargo Terminal and the special operation set up by the airport are essential for the operational efficiency that the GP Brasil F1, so much so that this is the 20th time that the airport performs the operation of disembarking and embarking equipment”, added Müssnich.
